Department Growth Path: Professional Services Engineer IIIJob SummaryThe Professional Services Engineer II is responsible for maintaining on-premises and cloud applications, servers, storage, and network equipment for all levels of local and remote users in small to large sized companies that employ a wide variety of software, hardware, and OS configurations. This individual is skilled at high-level root-cause analysis, able to work with minimal supervision and possess the ability to support infrastructure across a variety of technologies. Essential Functions
  • Design, configure, deploy, and maintain applications, servers, storage, and network solutions, both on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning and capacity planning.
  • Function as an escalation point for Client Services and Network Operations Center team providing support and resolution for Level I and Level II trouble tickets.
  • Collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components.
  • Create and update internal documentation.
  • Effectively communicate with both technical staff and end-users, providing exceptional client service.
  • Research and evaluate new hardware and software solutions.
  • Identify viable solutions to complex problems in a timely manner.
  • Development of scripts for use with automation, installation, configuration, and analysis.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in engineering, mathematics, or computer science. ITaaS experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in:
    • VMware and Microsoft virtualization solutions
    • SAN, NAS and backup vendor technology (NetApp, Nimble, Pure Storage, etc.)
    • Server OS management and deployment skills
    • Microsoft Exchange (OnPrem and/or O365)
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • DNS, DHCP, SMTP, firewalls and load balancing
    • Systems monitoring software such as Logic Monitor
  • Demonstrable and advanced proficiency in systems administration or systems engineering.
  • Certifications in Cisco, VMware, AWS, Azure preferred
  • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Flexibility to support 24/7 operations.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to and from Atomic Data facilities and client sites as needed.
