Job Title: Electrical Engineer II

Daikin Applied is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer II to join our dynamic Engineering team.

The Role:

We are looking for an individual to help advance the development of magnetically levitated turbomachinery, including:

  • Magnetic Bearing System development (Levitation control analysis, system evaluation testing, etc.)
  • Electric drives and control hardware development
  • Motor Drive system development (Custom motor drives, motor etc.)
  • Advanced Compressor drive system development (Integrated motor and magnetic bearing system control etc.)

Responsibilities include working hands-on with microcontrollers, C/C++, and MATLAB, as well as collaborating with an international team of engineers.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent years of related experience
  • Experience with electrical power components, such as Variable Frequency Drives, Induction Motors, and Permanent Magnet Motors
  • Experience with electrical control technologies, including IM/PM Motor Control, Magnetic Bearing Control, and mechanical actuator control
  • Strong team player with focus on team goals, team objectives, and team deadlines
Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating and implementing planning for compressor development, including design and review milestones
  • Evaluating all mechanical aspects to ensure the product meets life cycle requirements
  • Deriving component level requirements from assembly requirements to create part specifications and drawings
  • Applying common manufacturing and inspection capabilities to choose materials and tolerances
  • Creating robust design using DFMEA method during design, analysis, and testing

You will also be responsible for collaborating with other teams in the product development process/projects to ensure final product meets all objectives and customer requirements.
