The Jump Start Program is the perfect opportunity to make the leap from college to career. ESC is an established, growing electrical supplies distributor in the Boston region's booming electrical contractor market. Our significant growth and aggressive expansion plans require us to add more smart, hard-working, high-performance individuals to join our team. For the right candidates, we offer a program called JUMP START. As a jump start participant, you'll learn the all the aspects of our industry and just as importantly, learn where your interests, aptitudes, and talents lie.


Rotate through three 6-month engagements

You'll be guided by a top member of our team and network with peers as you build relationships with employees across ESC departments and locations. Over 18 months you'll learn our business through immersion in

  • Operations & Financial: supply chain, procurement, logistics, financial management
  • Projects: lighting and switchgear, estimating, project management
  • Sales: counter, inside sales, outside sales, customer relationship management, marketing

Transition into professional life

In your first few weeks at ESC, you'll engage in a number of assessments to help you, and us, understand your aptitude for leadership and your optimized working style. You'll come away with a better understanding of your strengths and the types of roles that will suit you best.


We want to help you get a jump on learning professional skills such as

  • Productivity and time management
  • How to organize and run a productive meeting
  • Customer facing best practices
  • How to communicate effectively up and down the organizational structure


ESC people know that all work no play is no way to work it So, the Jump Start program was designed with a lighter side too:

  • Team building retreats
  • Group lunches and dinners
  • Community events


At the conclusion of your 18 month program, ESC collects your input and gauges your interest, based on your new-found perspective across the company's roles. Your mentor, the program manager and department heads will also weigh-in. The goal will be to find you the fit that makes you happy and sets you up to succeed.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred

Experience: Some Professional Employment Experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of CRM software preferred

  • Strong organizational skills and a process-oriented approach toward uncovering opportunities and improving efficiency
  • Demonstrates a sense of focused and action-orientated approach as well as the ability to create a sense of urgency
  • Ability to concentrate your efforts on the most important priorities, moving quickly through issues, and driving for completion
  • Comfort and natural ability to find the optimal balance between speed, accuracy, and quality in the work you deliver
  • Polished, professional, comfortable and articulate communication & presentation style
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to ask the right questions and know when more information is needed
  • Demonstrates a sense of honesty and empathy, with the ability to see the world through the customer's eyes
  • Independent, self-reliant, team member with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
