Job Opportunity: Early Childhood Programs Director

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Early Childhood Programs Director to lead our Burlington Early Childhood Program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strong leadership and support to our staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our programs, and fostering a nurturing environment for our children and staff.

About Our Center

Our center is a vibrant and dynamic community that serves children from 8 weeks to 5 years old. We have a total capacity of 120 children and a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to providing high-quality care and education. As our Early Childhood Programs Director, you will be part of a supportive community that is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead with Impact: Provide strong leadership and support for employees, including Assistant Director, Early Childhood Coordinator, and teaching staff.
  • Build Your Team: Work closely with HR and Marketing to identify staffing needs, manage the hiring process, and develop recruitment plans.
  • Foster Growth: Work with staff to set goals, provide ongoing support, and follow up until goals are met.
  • Create a Positive Environment: Manage employee conflict and problem-solving to maintain a nurturing, positive environment for staff and children alike.
  • Ensure Compliance: Oversee the development of curriculum, ensure compliance with state licensing, accreditation standards, and YMCA policies.
Qualifications
  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Elementary or Early Education, Human Development, or a related field, or 30 college credits with an Early Childhood or School Age focus, or at least a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Four (4) A or B Certificate.
  • Program Director Step 2 certificate, successful completion of three (3) college credit courses in curriculum and an additional nine (9) credits in program management, staff supervision, administration or human resource management or willingness to take classes in first year of directorship.
