GOH is a small management consulting firm that has supported the federal government since 1997 (www.gohnow.com). We are looking for an experienced Grant Specialist to support our federal clients.


Job Summary:

The Grant Specialist reviews, tracks, and retains grantee reporting and deliverables along with providing grantee technical assistance. The Grant Specialist will have a clear track record of independently managing a caseload of grantees and assisting with modifications, amendments, and other grant actions. You must be an excellent strategic communicator with experience serving as a project team lead and client-facing point-of-contact on federal contracts. You also must be able to contribute to our positive and proactive culture while working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and high-tempo team environment.


Essential Functions:

  • Support key pre- and post-award grants management activities, such as, but not limited to: materials, correspondence, web content, surveys/forms and information collection tasks, reviewer/competition websites, SharePoint sites, answering emails and phones, preparing analysis and reports, help desk inquiry log, application screening, reviewer recruitment, reviewer and panel rosters, panel assignments, honoraria payments, funding slates, decision letters, project abstracts, grant portal administration, closeout functions, and other activities as assigned
  • Develop and review comprehensive findings reports and communicate changes or deviations effectively
  • Communicate consistently and with a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Upload reports and other documentation within the required time frame and systems.
  • Maintain records in tracker system, including but not limited to loading files, adding, monitoring, and completing task processes, and reporting issues to the team
  • Maintain filing systems for both electronic and hard copy documents.
  • Serve as reporting liaison by maintaining oversight and management of all reporting workflows through systems.
  • Prepare items for archiving based on record-keeping requirements
  • Maintain oversight and management of all reporting workflows through GIMS and related systems.
  • Responsible for program progress reports and tracking submissions of all final reports, uploading submitted reports, and initiating relevant workflow in GIMS
  • Notify appropriate personnel regarding incomplete or overdue final reports
  • Conduct periodic and final review of official files to ensure all relevant programmatic requirements are met
  • Monitor fiscal performance of grantees, including monitoring drawdowns and expenditures and reducing the incidence of unobligated and unliquidated balances
  • Communicate with grantees and technical assistance providers as needed to support grantee programmatic and fiscal performance
  • Conduct performance analysis and program assessments
  • Assist team in facilitating regular collaboration calls, including participating in discussions, presenting any findings from report/deliverable reviews, maintaining a list of attendees, and recording meeting minutes
  • Additional tasks related to the reviewing and selection process of applicants

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master's degree preferred
  • At least 3 years of specialized experience providing guidance and technical assistance to state, local, or federally funded grant programs
  • Ability to undertake multiple projects and deliver on tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the administration of discretionary grants is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to review, aggregate, and present data gathered from multiple sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and produce high-quality written products such as memoranda, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate in writing and when speaking and general proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; demonstrated proficiency in utilizing a variety of web-based and off-the-shelf data management software packages.
  • Experience developing new project process documentation and templates, as well as creating quality control procedures and checklists for deliverables and daily tasks.
  • Must be adept in prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
  • Detail-oriented

Work Environment: The work environment is a typical remote setting.


Physical demands: The job's physical demands include sitting for extended periods, occasional walking and standing, and potential extended hours of operation if required to support on-site project requirements. The employee must also be able to lift packages of at least 25 pounds.

Position type and expected hours of work: Full-time exempt position. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday, 40-60 hours per week. Some job activities may be required outside of typical workdays/hours. Overtime may be expected during peak periods.
