Resort Events Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Resort Events Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination and hosting of events at Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort. The position is responsible for making operational decisions during events, monitoring the budget, and analyzing the overall success or failure of said events. It is critical that this person can multitask in a fast-paced environment, has a creative vision, and is organized.

Qualifications:

  • College education preferred
  • Knowledge of Hotel and F&B front and back of house operations
  • Comprehensive computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred
  • Previous administrative, hotel, events or related experience required

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the initiation of all administrative requirements necessary for resort events such as concerts, holiday buffets, classes and special events hosted by Rod ‘N’ Reel.
  • Develop and oversee event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Determines appropriate invitation format, food and beverage, decor, entertainment and other related items. Recommends marketing materials to promote events.
  • Manages life cycle of online ticket sales by creating ticketed events online. Reviews ticket sales post-event and uses the data to make recommendations for future events.
  • Create detailed itineraries and schedules for events. Supervises event set-up and services during events.
  • Collaborates across resort departments including marketing, sales, and food and beverage to ensure event success.
  • Assist in determining staffing needs for resort events.
  • Serves as main point of contact for all resort events and maintains relationships with vendors, bands, entertainment, and community members.
  • Manage contracts and agreements with vendors and service providers related to resort events.
  • Serves as Chair of the RNR Gives Back Committee and leads community involvement of the organization, such as Adopt-a-Highway, Spirit Night fundraisers and donations.
  • Collaborates with human resources to provide company sponsored events for team members throughout the year.
  • Establishes key metrics to track event success.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the resort.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use repetitive hand and body motions on a regular basis such as grasping, writing, typing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time on varying ground levels with stairs on a regular basis
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds or more and to bend, stoop, stretch, climb and squat frequently to fulfill a range of manual tasks.
  • Must possess a valid US driver’s license for driving purposes.
