Job DescriptionJob Description

At Magnolia Electric Power our Members are most important. As a Member Service Specialist you would be responsible for providing assistance to Members regarding energy use and written materials. You must live within the 6 counties of Magnolia Electric Power services.

Responsibilities Include:

Provides assistance to members regarding energy use, and written materials.

Makes available written materials on the safe and efficient use of electricity for members and employees.

Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities and tasks outlined in this document are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the company.


Provide assistance to members daily with;

  • Opening new accounts
  • Transferring service to a different location
  • Making payment arrangements
  • Deposit information and amounts / policy
  • Pre-paid information / amounts / calculations / written materials
  • Aid to construction amounts / cost breakdown
  • Smart Hub app. Inquiries
    • Assistance Programs -
      • Check system each morning for pledges and add accordingly
      • Send copies of bills requested to agencies
      • When check is received, review account and give any necessary paperwork to front counter to apply amounts correctly

Other Duties;

  • Notarizing easements
  • Filing/recording easements from new line construction with the appropriate county clerk
  • Running reports on released work orders to insure they are with the work order clerk

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This position deals with the public on a daily basis.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion.
  • Must be able to work overtime in storms or outage events.

  • Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, stand, and squat.
    • Work at a computer for a long period of time.
    • Answer the phone professionally.
