Slide is a cutting-edge Tampa based Technology Enabled Insurance company who is disrupting the industry

Slide is expanding our product offerings to insuring Condominium and Homeowner Association properties, and apartments in the state of Florida. Commercial property policies provide coverage for the commonly owned association property, excluding the unit-owners property.

We are looking for a Commercial Residential Claims Manager who will be responsible for the initial handling of claims, while building and developing a new segment for daily Commercial Residential claims operations.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage daily commercial residential claims while leading and growing the team.
  • Develop and support processes and workflows specific to commercial residential claims.
  • Utilize superior customer service skills while working with insured and external business partners regarding the handling and/or disposition of claims and other issues.
  • Proactively communicate and set accurate claims expectations with customers throughout the Claims process while providing high quality customer service.
  • Evaluate claims and address policy coverage issues in excess of staff authority.
  • Examine, analyze, and appropriately interpret policies, forms, and other records to determine coverage and extent of company's exposure or liability.
  • Negotiate and settle claims in accordance with Slide's best practices, guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continued education opportunities to remain abreast of emerging laws or other required changes to insurance-related processes.
  • Appropriately apply knowledge of multiple state statutes, including the insurance code of ethics, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Ensure legal compliance, adherence to claims processes, and timely payments.
  • Remain abreast of emerging laws or other required changes to insurance-related processes.
  • Assign, direct, monitor, and assist in building external partnerships and making expert recommendations.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members; set goals and lead to success.
  • Conduct team member interviews and make staffing recommendations.
  • Conduct Open and Closed File Reviews to evaluate and document overall operational value.
  • Contribute to the business production goals and objectives.
  • Establish timely and appropriate claim reserves in accordance with claim standards.
  • Develop and analyze statistical reports.
  • Appropriately represent the company by executing a high level of service and always maintaining professionalism.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

What you have:

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of a High School diploma and pertinent work experience is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Commercial Residential Claims dealing with a wide variety of property claims required.
  • 3+ years' experience with Florida insurance laws and Florida good faith claims handling required.
  • 2+ years of experience working directly for an insurance carrier.
  • 3+ years of experience with Florida insurance laws and Florida good faith claims handling required.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience including setting of goals and managing performance.
  • Active Florida 6-20 Resident All Lines Adjuster License.
  • Industry designations or certifications a plus.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven knowledge of HOA's, their processes, Bylaws and CCR (Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions) as well as their master policies and experience handling association damage and damage to common areas.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial residential property claims practices and legal terminology.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of insurance-related legal procedures, regulations, and claims processing.
  • Proven success with negotiations and vendor management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills.
  • Xactimate proficiency a plus.
  • Strong planning, analytical, organizational, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact on a professional level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of property claims practices and legal terminology.
  • Data-driven, analytical approach necessary.
  • Working knowledge to interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and department operational guidelines in daily functions.
  • Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Xactimate proficiency a plus.
