  • What you will be doing:
  • Develop and support processes and workflows tailored to residential property claims, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Partner with the Training team to organize and conduct engaging and interactive training sessions for Claims employees, both in-person and virtually.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and support to Claims Examiners to address specific challenges and enhance their skills.
  • Work closely with management to identify training needs and gaps in existing claims handling.
  • Develop and implement assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of Claims Examiner training programs.
  • Research and stay current on all statutory requirements related to residential property claims.
  • Apply knowledge of multiple state statutes, including the insurance code of ethics, rules, regulations, and guidelines, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Pursue continuing education opportunities to remain informed of emerging laws or changes to insurance-related processes.
  • Support organizational change initiatives
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

What you already have:

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

  • Bachelor's degree or High School diploma and equivalent relevant work experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in residential property claims, handling a diverse range of claim types.
  • 5+ years of experience working directly for an insurance carrier.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience including setting of goals and managing performance.
  • 2+ years' experience with Florida insurance laws and Florida good faith claims handling required.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven knowledge of state-specific insurance laws and good faith claims handling, with a preference for those knowledgeable in Florida laws.
  • Proficient in all aspects of front-end claim handling including litigation; third party claims handling is a plus.
  • A thorough understanding of insurance-related legal procedures, regulations, and claims processing, with a focus on residential properties.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of residential property policy forms claims practices, and legal terminology.
  • Working knowledge of Florida insurance laws and Florida good faith claims handling experience.
  • Xactimate proficiency is required.
  • Proven adaptability and flexibility; able to adjust to new requirements or unforeseen issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on outstanding customer service.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • A data-driven, analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with team members across departments.
  • Working knowledge to interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and department operational guidelines in daily functions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
