We are in search of a Commercial Residential Claims Manager who will take charge of developing, guiding, and inspiring our claims team, with a strong emphasis on the daily operations of commercial residential claims.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of commercial residential claims while fostering team development.
  • Design and enhance processes and workflows tailored to commercial residential claims.
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service skills while collaborating with insured parties and external partners regarding claims management.
  • Maintain proactive communication and set clear expectations with clients throughout the claims process, ensuring high-quality service.
  • Assess claims and resolve policy coverage matters beyond the authority of staff.
  • Review, analyze, and accurately interpret policies and documentation to ascertain coverage and the extent of liability.
  • Negotiate and resolve claims in alignment with best practices and industry standards.
  • Pursue ongoing educational opportunities to stay informed about evolving laws and necessary changes in insurance processes.
  • Apply knowledge of various state statutes, including the insurance code of ethics and relevant regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards, adherence to claims procedures, and timely financial settlements.
  • Stay updated on emerging laws and changes in insurance-related processes.
  • Direct, monitor, and assist in establishing external partnerships while providing expert recommendations.
  • Mentor, train, and develop team members; set objectives and guide them toward success.
  • Conduct interviews for team members and make staffing recommendations.
  • Perform Open and Closed File Reviews to assess and document operational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to achieving business production goals and objectives.
  • Establish timely and appropriate claim reserves in accordance with established standards.
  • Generate and analyze statistical reports.
  • Represent the company by delivering a high level of service and maintaining professionalism.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

  • A Bachelor's degree or a combination of a High School diploma and relevant work experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years in Commercial Residential Claims handling a diverse range of property claims.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Florida insurance regulations and good faith claims management.
  • A minimum of 2 years working directly for an insurance provider.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience, including goal setting and performance management.
  • Possession of an active Florida 6-20 Resident All Lines Adjuster License.
  • Industry certifications or designations are advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of Homeowner Associations, including their processes, Bylaws, and Covenants.
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial residential property claims practices and legal terminology.
  • Thorough grasp of insurance-related legal procedures, regulations, and claims processing.
  • Proven success in negotiations and vendor management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Xactimate is a plus.
  • Strong planning, analytical, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for professional interactions.
  • Data-driven, analytical mindset is essential.
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies, and operational guidelines in daily tasks.
  • Proficient in MSO/365 applications, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
