SUMMARY

Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department while sitting at the front desk at the Crums Lane facility. This position assists with recruitment, orientations, record maintenance and events. Must be able to juggle the demands of day-to-day employee relations activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Addresses basic employee questions and acts as first line of support for department.
  • Maintains all personnel and benefit files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Maintains the HRIS database, enters new hire employee information and employee status changes, and generates reports for department that support KPIs.
  • Maintains contractor, temporary and visitor logs and documentation requirements for the facility.
  • Process department invoices for payment.
  • Interpret administrative and operating policies and procedures for employees.
  • Maintains the electronic bulletin board and other communication boards, updates information as needed for the department.
  • Create and distribute monthly HR Newsletter and reports for department.
  • Contact employees for visitors, vendors, contractors and other guests upon arrival at the facility.
  • Point of Contact for Uniform and Breakroom Vendors and resolves any issues or concerns.
  • Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests, such as unemployment insurance claims, employment verification and other employment records requests.
  • Maintain digital and electronic records of employees in compliance with our records retention requirements.
  • Assist with the recruitment process by answering questions about how to apply, candidate application status, verifying pre-employment paperwork and/or help with hourly recruiting requisitions.
  • Coordinate company events, including recognition, service, and retirement celebrations.
  • Work with Workforce Development Manager on new hire orientations and orchestration of event.
  • Assist EHSS Manager in safety and security systems user updates to include creating badges, updating security and equipment access levels, EHS systems user management, etc. and other administrative support functions.
  • Orders office supplies, business cards and employee logo items.
  • Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree with 2 years of experience in Human Resources or equivalent combination of both.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize projects/tasks to meet deadlines
  • Interpersonal Skills – the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others and exhibits willingness to try new things.
  • Very detail oriented and excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully
  • Problem Solving – the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully
  • Effective oral and written communication
