Senior Payroll Coordinator

Experience based payrate between $29.22 - $32.40 per hour

The Senior Payroll Coordinator at Friendly Senior Living is responsible for overseeing payroll and assistng with the HRIS (Human Resources Informational System) as needed.

Requirements for a Senior Payroll Coordinator:

  • Education: Associates's Degree in business; human resources; or finance/accounting.
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years experience in payroll with automated time recording system software.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws required
  • Must be able to interpret complex payroll and tax guidelines.
  • Skills: Excel experience required; excellent communication skills.
  • Detailed oriented and must be able to handle multiple priorities with conflicting deadlines.
  • Initiative and independent judgement in carrying out job responsibilities.

Responsibilities for a Senior Payroll Coordinator:

  • Provide finance with payroll reports to use to update general ledger.
  • Assists with wage surveys, grants, as required.
  • Prepares and transmits monthly Bureau of Labor statistics report.
  • Prepares and submits Annual EEO-1 reporting.
  • Calculates and submits Quarterly Payroll Based Journal (PBJ) report in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provides end of year reporting and functions to include Group Term Life calculations.Provide finance assistance in other reporting as time allows.
  • Manages all payroll-related responsibilities, including assisting with maintenance of our HRIS information and other related systems.
  • Oversees the timely and accurate payroll administration of approximately 600 employees (full and part-time or temporary).
  • Coordinate and ensure that the all statutory reports and filings are completed timely and accurately.
  • Act as the point person for all pay-related issues and queries. Ensures all payroll regulations are being followed.
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate records of payroll deductions, and check requests.
  • Maintains and audits employee and payroll databases.
  • Reviews punch edits on a weekly basis and payroll bi-weekly.
  • Run payroll registers and save on network.
  • Departmental liaison with payroll vendor to maintain and update systems.
  • Maintains and monitors employee banking records
  • Processes salary inquiries for NYS Department of Social Services, Housing Authority, mortgage applications and other institutions as needed.
  • Creates and prepares various payroll reports for Human Resources and Administration use. Creates reports for all departments upon request.
  • Develop and conduct training for system users.
  • Experience with PayCor preferred.
  • Must maintain confidential information on all employees and any information regarding employees and/or HR related situations.
  • Attend training opportunities to stay current on compliance issues, regulations, and sharing the information with all.
  • Provides support to the finance department concerning departmental needs in all Payroll areas.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Participates in in-service education and safety programs.
