Job Overview:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineering Project Coordinator, you will be tasked with delivering construction engineering solutions across multiple concurrent federal initiatives, each valued from tens to hundreds of millions of dollars.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive site observation and reporting for various assigned projects, ensuring compliance with government standards.
2. Offer both technical and administrative support throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Supervise construction activities, contract management, and quality assurance in line with established protocols and regulations.
4. Evaluate design and construction challenges concerning contract stipulations and deliver informed recommendations to government representatives.
5. Review and interpret technical documents including plans, specifications, submittals, and change orders.
6. Conduct field surveillance and compile detailed daily reports addressing all critical factors impacting costs and engineering aspects.
7. Engage in pre-construction meetings with government stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, construction, and contract management.
- Previous involvement in projects with government entities is preferred.
- Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers projects is advantageous.
- Familiarity with large-scale campus-type projects and mechanical systems is desirable.
Additional Information:
Candidates must be US citizens and will undergo a federal background check and drug screening. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential for successful interaction with clients and contractors.
