Summary:
The SPL Director of Inventory, Logistics and Sourcing (ILS) shall maintain responsibility for all NA materials sourcing, logistics and inventory management systems.  The primary focus is to ensure we have strategically established sustainable solutions for all parts and materials availability for our NA customers and operations.  This includes working with all BHS global and local entities to develop contracts to support NA demand and delivery requirements for both materials and services.  The scope of the role is to create reliable delivery solutions through vendor partnership agreements, best in class inventory management systems, while incorporating sustainable sourcing solutions.  This role will also drive material availability, delivery lead-time, and establish best in class logistics management practices. This is a hybrid position requiring up to 20% travel. This is a hybrid position in Charlotte, NC and requires less than 20% travel.

Responsibilities:
  • As a director-level position, the overall responsibility and accountability for sustained daily operations, and most importantly driving constant improvement of the functional area such that business growth and stability is maintained.  
  • Establish local sourcing agreements to align and support demand requirements. Create strategic agreements with local vendors to drive sustainable delivery and improve BHS global business results.
    • Conduct global margin assessment to assure best BHS global benefit is acquired. This takes into account cost, lead time, availability, internal processing cost etc.
    • Investigate and research potential parts specification alternatives and options as back up.
    • Establish vendor qualification requirements to sustain adequate delivery of materials as expected.  Conduct audits and ensure contingencies are in place.
    • Establish Vendor performance metrics to assure business objectives are achieved.
  • Create demand forecast requirements from all BHS NA functional segments to assure material / service availability is achieved to meet objectives. Establish demand forecasting capability working with product managers, and technical services to identify the demands during the next six to twelve months. Ensuring suppliers are aware and capable of capacity demands.  Establish action plans as required.
  • Establish best-in-class logistics systems to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.  Create sustainable logistics flow from parts ordering to delivery.  Improve freight consistency and cost for business results.
  • Incorporate the best-in-class technology and systems to drive inventory management optimization.  Customer satisfaction and just-in-time need to be balanced and optimized for long-term business growth and stability.
  • Drive overall ERP and business systems processing improvements.  Creating LEAN and automated business processing to assure speed and sustained quality processing is achieved.
  • Conduct training and mentoring for the SPL ILS team regarding technical requirements and operations of our customers. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of four (4) years degree in Business or related Supply chain related field.
  • Five (5) plus years working with suppliers and local NA vendor agreements.  
  • Experience managing large inventory systems and processing.
  • Extended knowledge in freight and logistics capability.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with focus on problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work at a computer for up to eight (8) hours a day.
  • Ability to stand for at least forty-five (45) minutes at a time and lift thirty-five (35) pounds at waist level.
  • MPR, SAP, system experience a plus.

Salary and Benefits:
The salary range offered for this position is $170k - $175k + potential bonus per year.
