Job Overview

Position Summary

The Logistics Coordinator for Materials Handling plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient delivery of materials to various project locations while overseeing the inventory of tools and supplies. This position requires an individual who is an effective communicator, highly organized, self-driven, and capable of problem-solving. The ideal candidate will demonstrate care and respect towards both colleagues and the materials being handled. A large vehicle is not necessary, as the company will provide the required transportation.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation and Delivery

  • Load, transport, and unload materials to designated job sites, including items such as millwork, scaffolding, cabinetry, and consumables.

*Expect to engage in physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions for approximately 10-20% of your work time.

  • Operate large delivery vehicles and trailers across diverse and challenging terrains; CDL training may be necessary.
  • Prior experience in delivery driving is preferred; this role operates Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with no weekend or evening shifts.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain optimal stock levels of over 200 different consumable products, ensuring shelves are clean, labeled, and organized.

Workshop Maintenance

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of company-owned tools, coordinating with repair shops as needed, and assist in keeping the workshop tidy and organized.

Communication

  • Engage in weekly discussions with Lead Carpenters regarding job site requirements, coordinate with office staff for inventory orders, and maintain daily communication with the Director for broader company needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Capability to load and unload heavy and awkward items from vehicles.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Google Workspace, particularly Sheets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in inventory management.
  • Familiarity with tool maintenance and repair.
  • Background in material transportation.
  • Experience driving large delivery vehicles and trailers.
