Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is currently accepting applications for Youth Development Specialists at our Licensed School Sites in Arlington, TX. The Youth Development Specialist is responsible for safety, administrative compliance and school site programming.


Duties include, but are not limited to: adhering to all policies, procedures, and processes; ensuring the safety of members, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities; administrative compliance and reporting with accuracy; membership tracking; implementing assigned programming and activities; providing excellent customer service; building relationships; and being a positive role model.

This position may require working with large groups of youth.


Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County operates after-school programming in partnership with AISD. These locations are licensed child care centers regulated by the State of Texas Child Care Licensing. At the school sites, youth receive targeted services in a safe, supportive environment from Boys & Girls Clubs staff who believe in the organization’s mission.


School Site Locations:

  • Atherton Elementary
  • Jones Academy
  • Key Elementary
  • Pearcy STEM Academy
  • Pope Elementary
  • Swift Elementary
  • Wimbish World Language Academy
Requirements:

Education and work experience requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
  • Minimum 6 months of experience working with youth (professional or volunteer)
  • Must meet state requirements for employment at license childcare site

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Available to work between the hours of 2pm-7pm Monday – Friday during school year; up to 37.5 hours per week during summer Monday - Friday
  • Ability to be a positive role model
  • Ability to establish rapport and build relationships
  • Ability to relate to at-risk youth
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
  • Must be able to pass any and all required background screens and drug screens at any time
  • Position requires driving company vehicle. Candidates must have satisfactory driving record and a valid driver’s license for operation of a motor vehicle relevant to carrying out duties and to be covered under the company insurance the requirement is for employee to be a minimum of age 21.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to facilitate, teach, or instruct youth
  • Bilingual
  • Currently certified in CPR/First Aid
  • Knowledge of various program areas such as healthy lifestyles, culture and arts, academics, social development and teen interests
  • Work experience with or program knowledge of the Boys & Girls Club Movement (national and/or local Club) is an advantage

Pay & Benefits:

  • Pay: $14.00 hourly (part-time, Non-exempt)
  • Benefits: Eligible for Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay
