About the Role:

We are looking for a Payroll Manager to join our People and Culture team. Our Manager will be the architect behind our payroll processes. They will own the day-to-day administration, nurture efficiency, and make sure everything runs smoothly, implementing and maintaining essential payroll transactions, as well as supporting open enrollment and day to day benefit administration and leave of absence needs. Our Manager will also be our go-to person for any employee questions, issues, or support around payroll and benefits.


Requirements:

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and administer payroll procedures. Including day-to-day operations, as well as HCM process improvements and system enhancements through Paylocity.
  • Responsible for the payroll processing and administrative functions to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payrolls for biweekly multi-state payroll for approximately 200+ full-time employees and 400+ part-time and seasonal employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all payroll laws and tax obligations.
  • Coordinate regular reporting and updates with accounting.
  • Effectively prioritize to ensure compliance and accurate record keeping and ensure payroll is processed in compliance with multi-state wage and hour laws.
  • Establish withholding and unemployment accounts with new states as needed.
  • Assist with Monthly and Year End Reporting as needed.
  • Manage unemployment claims.
  • Assist with government filings such as EEO-1, Workers Compensation, and 5500’s.


What you already know and skills you bring:

  • 3-7 years of experience with payroll and benefits, or in a similar role.
  • Deep knowledge of best practice payroll procedures and related laws.
  • Advanced skills with payroll HCM, specifically Paylocity.
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll withholding and unemployment taxes.
  • General HR knowledge, including benefits and leave of absence.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Team player, positive attitude, and persistence to execute on projects.
  • Ability to research and resolve complex issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion with sensitive information.
  • Adapts positively to continuous change.

Bonus Points if you:

  • Have experience with complex payroll processing, including knowledge of multi-state, seasonal/part-time/gig employee time allocation, and employees serving in dual roles.
