Job Overview

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Manager to enhance our People and Culture division. This role will be pivotal in shaping our payroll systems and ensuring seamless operations. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily payroll activities, driving efficiency, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations. Additionally, this position will support employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee payroll operations, including daily tasks and improvements to Human Capital Management (HCM) processes using Paylocity.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for a diverse workforce, including approximately 200 full-time and over 400 part-time and seasonal employees across multiple states.
  • Maintain compliance with payroll legislation and tax requirements.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team for regular reporting and updates.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure adherence to compliance standards and accurate record-keeping.
  • Establish and manage withholding and unemployment accounts in new states as necessary.
  • Assist with monthly and year-end financial reporting as required.
  • Handle unemployment claims and assist with government compliance filings, including EEO-1 and Workers Compensation.

Qualifications:

  • 3-7 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration or a related field.
  • In-depth understanding of payroll best practices and relevant laws.
  • Proficient in payroll HCM systems, particularly Paylocity.
  • Familiarity with multi-state payroll regulations and unemployment taxes.
  • General knowledge of HR functions, including benefits and leave management.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Collaborative team player with a positive mindset and a commitment to project execution.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve complex payroll issues.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Adaptable to ongoing changes in the workplace.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with complex payroll scenarios, including multi-state, seasonal, and part-time employee management.
