Overview:
The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing the operations of a designated restaurant within the HYATT Hotels. This role involves collaborating with the Executive Chef to design and execute innovative menus and culinary concepts, while functioning with the autonomy akin to that of an independent restaurant owner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide senior leadership by taking on essential management duties.
  • Serve as the primary link between the dining room and kitchen staff.
  • Oversee the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes.
  • Create and introduce imaginative menu offerings that align with the restaurant's theme.
  • Organize and execute special events and seasonal celebrations.
  • Manage kitchen staff through effective scheduling, payroll management, training, coaching, evaluations, and recruitment.
  • May oversee other culinary leadership positions, including supervisors and junior Sous Chefs.
  • Inspire and guide the team to achieve outstanding guest service and employee satisfaction.
  • Monitor daily food production, inventory, costs, and ensure quality and consistency.
  • Engage in promotional activities that are relevant to the restaurant.
Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of kitchen operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in training, basic financial oversight, and customer service.
  • Proficient in general computer applications.
  • A genuine commitment to surpassing guest expectations in a dynamic service environment.
  • Ability to deliver a consistent product promptly.
  • Excellent training and communication abilities.
  • Culinary education and/or relevant experience in independent restaurants is preferred.
  • Flexibility in location and scheduling is advantageous.
