Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Manager to oversee our payroll functions within the People and Culture department. This role is crucial in designing and managing our payroll systems. The Payroll Manager will handle daily operations, enhance efficiency, and ensure seamless payroll processing, while also supporting benefits administration and managing leave of absence requests. This individual will serve as the primary resource for employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute payroll operations, including daily tasks and improvements to Human Capital Management (HCM) processes through Paylocity.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for a biweekly multi-state payroll, covering approximately 200+ full-time and 400+ part-time and seasonal employees.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant payroll regulations and tax requirements.
- Coordinate regular updates and reporting with the accounting department.
- Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure compliance and accurate record-keeping, adhering to multi-state wage and hour laws.
- Establish new withholding and unemployment accounts as required.
- Assist with monthly and year-end reporting as necessary.
- Manage unemployment claims efficiently.
- Support government filings, including EEO-1, Workers Compensation, and 5500 forms.
Qualifications:
- 3-7 years of experience in payroll and benefits management or a similar capacity.
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll best practices and applicable laws.
- Proficient in payroll HCM systems, particularly Paylocity.
- Familiarity with multi-state payroll withholding and unemployment tax regulations.
- General knowledge of HR functions, including benefits and leave management.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a focus on meeting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to project execution.
- Adept at researching and resolving complex payroll issues.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Flexible and adaptable to ongoing changes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with complex payroll scenarios, including multi-state, seasonal, part-time, and gig employee time management, as well as employees in dual roles.
