POSITION OVERVIEW:

Solomon Group is seeking an experienced, dynamic Director of Business Development to lead the growth and expansion of our Exhibits & Immersive Destinations division.

In this pivotal role, you will drive the strategic shift towards a consultancy-led model, focusing on high-level project development, client consulting, and technical supervision. To be successful, you will need a proven record track record in developing new business relationships and engaging clients in the immersive experiences and exhibits industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Growth: Develop and execute a business development strategy to expand our client base in the immersive museums, attraction real estate, IP owners, and corporate brands sectors.
  • Client Engagement: Identify and engage potential clients, understanding their needs, and presenting Solomon Group’s consultancy-led approach as a solution.
  • Partnership Development: Foster relationships with third-party vendors and partners to ensure seamless project execution, leveraging external expertise, while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and ensure Solomon Group remains at the forefront of the exhibits and immersive destinations space.
  • Expert Involvement: Serve as a strategic voice in projects and pursuits, deeply involving yourself in the strategy and development aspects to provide high-value expertise.
  • Project Continuity: Stay connected to projects after the sale to monitor client sentiment, support clients and project teams, and ensure continued satisfaction and alignment with client expectations.
  • Project Oversight: Collaborate closely with the creative and production teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support the division’s strategic goals.
  • Communications: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communication strategy to effectively convey the value proposition of Solomon Group’s new consultancy-led model to both internal and external stakeholders.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in business development, strategic consultancy, or a related field within the exhibits, immersive experiences, or related industries.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the immersive experiences market, with a strong network of contacts in relevant sectors.
  • Strategic and Creative Acumen: Proven ability to develop and execute strategic business development plans and contribute meaningfully to project strategy and execution.
  • Relationship Building: Exceptional skills in building and maintaining relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Leadership: Ability to work independently and lead strategic initiatives without direct reports.
  • Innovation: A passion for creative innovation and a commitment to staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: A self-starter with a curious, entrepreneurial mindset and an unstoppable drive to succeed.
