Combine your running or fitness passion with your marketing expertise, and your Christian faith as we launch Upward Running What is Upward Running? It is the newest endeavor by Upward Sports that brings together a community of runners and walkers to achieve their goals together. This is done through training plans tailored to the runner where they are, sport curriculum, ministry content, and a group of like-minded individuals who want the best for each other. The new Upward Running brand officially launches in October 2024, but we have 14 years of experience in this space within our organization.

Role responsibilties:

  • This role will be the lead on all marketing and communications projects for the Upward Running and Walking channel.
  • Develop relevant organic marketing content to drive interest and brand awareness for Upward Running.
  • Help design and manage the digital marketing campaigns to drive new memberships to our Upward RunClub.
  • Develop and execute campaigns to get new churches to pick up our church based programming for Upward Running.
  • Interact with churches or runners/walkers at conferences or races that we have a marketing booth stationed at.
  • Help craft the new brand that is Upward Running and Walking and take us through the transition from Run For God to Upward Running and Walking.
  • Become the corporate voice of Upward Running and Walking to our current customers through effective, timely, and succinct communications weekly.
  • Maintain a presence on the in-app social channels for Upward Running and Walking answering questions or resolving issues that may come up periodically.
  • Find, vet, and manage influencers to promote Upward Sports.
  • Take the lead on or manage other projects for the general Upward Sports marketing team as outlined by the Marketing and Partnerships Manager.
  • Develop and maintain reports to show effectiveness of our marketing campaigns for strategic decision making.

Education and Preferred requirements

  1. BA/BS or equivalent experience in marketing or related field
  2. Experience managing digital marketing campaigns
  3. Experience developing social media content
  4. Must have knowledge of the current running of fitness cultures and be able to develop relevant content within these areas.
  5. Willing and able to be on camera for media like webinars, podcasts, or other video-based marketing content.
  6. Ability to think outside of the box with strong problem-solving skills
  7. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  8. Organization and prioritization skills
  9. Ability to maintain positive, professional demeanor at all times
  10. Consistent attention to detail and quality; eye for detail
  11. Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple initiatives
