About The Role

We are seeking a skilled 2D CAD Engineer with expertise in AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create detailed manufacturing drawings from 3D models and to draft and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Knowledge of the hydrogen generation industry is a plus.


Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed 2D Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using AutoCAD.
  • Convert 3D drawings from SolidWorks into 2D manufacturing drawings.
  • Draft and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure designs meet specifications and manufacturing requirements.
  • Adequate understanding of GD&T standards
  • Review and verify accuracy of drawings to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Be able to spec piping and determine pressures regarding systems based on the industry standards like SAE, NEC, ASME and other engineering committees.
  • Provide technical support and assist in troubleshooting design-related issues.
  • Maintain and update CAD libraries and documentation.
  • Participate in design review meetings and provide input on design improvements.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proficiency in 2D drafting using AutoCAD. Minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Strong understanding and ability to draft Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Solid mechanical background with the ability to understand and interpret complex designs.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in creating and reviewing drawings.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of the hydrogen generation industry is preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Being able to think creatively while troubleshooting.
  • Ability to make smart design decisions.
  • Innovated thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work individually and with multifunctional teams.
  • The position is on site in Hickory/Longview North Carolina.
  • Ability to commute to work daily.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in converting 3D drawings from SolidWorks into 2D manufacturing drawings. Minimum 1 year of experience preferred.
  • 3-5 Years of Drafting experience in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Master's in Mechanical Engineering is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in the hydrogen generation industry or similar sectors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

**Starting Salary: Based on experience & can be discussed during the interview process.

**Must be willing to relocate/commute to a surrounding OneH2 location if required (within a 10-60 mile radius from Longview, NC). This may be discussed during the interview.
