GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, this at-will leadership position within the
Home Office is responsible for managing all areas of financial concern, including supervising
accounting staff, external and internal financial reporting and maintaining the security of agency assets.
This position is responsible for assisting Turning Point’s fiscal department with ensuring the financial
viability of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)

The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that could be
performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the
work is similar, related or a logical assignment to this class.

  • Oversees the Accounting Staff in their day to day duties, including assignment of tasks.
  • Reviews general ledger reconciliations.
  • Analyze monthly financial statements.
  • Assist in development of annual budget.
  • Develop, implement and maintain internal controls.
  • Acts as liaison to external auditors.
  • Supervises fiscal staff as assigned.
  • Prepares tax returns.
  • Drives on agency business using personal vehicle.
  • Maintains clean driving record as well as currency in driver’s license and vehicle
    insurance/registration.
  • Adheres to and upholds the policies and procedures of Turning Point Community Programs.
  • Attends all team and agency staff meetings unless approval for non-attendance is secured by
    the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Meets the standards set for performance in all aspects of job duties.
  • Meets the standard for consistent attendance (not more than a 5% absence rate per month) by
    reporting to every scheduled shift on time and ready to work and by the judicious use of paid
    sick leave and avoiding any situations resulting in the need to dock pay for time not worked.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM:
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is through graduation
from an accredited university or college with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related
field, three (3) years of accounting experience and three (3) years of supervisory experience. Additional
qualifying experience may be substituted for education.

LICENSES; CERTIFICATES; SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • California driver’s license & current vehicle insurance/registration if driving; and,
  • Reliable means of transportation capable of passing vehicle safety inspection if more than five
    years old excluding all modes of two-wheeled transport inclusive of bicycles, mopeds and
    motorcycles.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
