Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:
The VP of Finance & Accounting is accountable for the administrative, financial and risk management operations of the company, to include the development of financial and operational strategy, performance metrics tied to the strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of controls designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, monthly financial statements, annual audits, annual budgets and forecasting.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
  • Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the executive team and board of directors.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
  • Participate in the development of the corporation’s plans and programs as a strategic partner.
  • Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting department budgets.
  • Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
  • Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
  • Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as provide individuals with professional and personal growth with opportunities to advance within the company.


RequirementsREQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Ability to lead by example, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and empathy in all interactions.

· Familiar with Quick Books and Oracle NetSuite

· Proficient in MS Office with ability to learn new software.

· Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

· Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Proven ability to lead a team, self-starter.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required).

· Five or more years of related experience (required).

· Familiar with Quick Books and Oracle NetSuite (preferred).


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Based in office headquarters in Sioux Falls.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

· Less than 10% on an annual basis.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Individual needs to be able to work in an office environment.
