JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB SUMMARY:
The People Services Specialist will assist with labor relations and human resources matters, gathering, collecting, and maintaining documents and records required for contract and policy development, and investigations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Handles routine labor relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and refers complex matters to appropriate Business Partner.
- Serves as the initial contact for all incoming department calls and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints.
- Assists with recordkeeping related to hiring, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion particularly as related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), affirmative action, and diversity initiatives.
- Conducts surveys and research material related to human resource policies, and compensation. Collects information and reports results to EVP of People and Culture.
- Manages Department of Workforce Services Unemployment Claims.
- Employment verifications in absence of Payroll Manager.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, labor relations, and human resources.
- Assists with preparation of plans, policies, documents, and reports including EEO-1, affirmative action plans, organizational charts, and employee handbooks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to HR.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business, or related field required.
At least two years of professional human resource administration required with experience in employee relations preferred.

- Team player - possess a positive attitude and demonstrates honesty and integrity in all endeavors.
- Ability to understand, apply and analyze financial data.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to self-start and work independently or as part of a diverse team.
- Detail oriented and organized with the ability to easily identify areas that require improvement.
