Position Overview: As an Azure SQL DBA, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our Azure SQL databases, ensuring the highest levels of performance, security, and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Azure SQL databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor and tune database performance to meet the needs of our applications and business processes.
- Security: Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data and comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and query optimization.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to support database requirements, including schema design and query optimization.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Upgrades and Patching: Manage database upgrades and patches, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Automation: Implement automation solutions to streamline database management tasks and improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a SQL DBA and ETL with a strong focus on Azure SQL Database management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL Server, NoSQL, Azure SQL Database, and T-SQL. Experience with PowerShell scripting and Azure Data Factory is a plus.
- Performance Tuning: Proven expertise in performance tuning, index management, and query optimization.
- Security Knowledge: Strong understanding of database security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
