POSITION SUMMARY

  • DIVISION: Government Services
  • SUPERVISOR: Government Services Division Director
  • UNION REPRESENTATION: Not represented
  • POSITION PURPOSE: This position exists to provide regional vision and leadership for a team committed to transforming data into powerful insights that drive progress and innovation for Lane County agencies and communities. The successful candidate will help shape next-generation approaches in leveraging a well-respected and comprehensive regional dataset developed through the long-standing Lane County regional GIS collaboration known as the Lane Geographic Data Consortium. Manages planning, organization and development of LCOG's GIS and analytics team and program including fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and excellence. Includes intergovernmental coordination; strategic planning, development and implementation of policies, procedures, and budget; personnel management; identification of potential work/projects and funding opportunities, securing resources and contracts; and representing the organization at various community, state, federal, and other agency meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in geographic information systems (GIS), planning, or related field.
  • Seven years of progressively responsible professional experience working on projects related to the designated program area, including lead or supervisory experience.
  • Or any combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in geographic information systems (GIS), planning, or related field.
