About The Role:

Seismic Therapeutic is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Finance to build our FP&A capabilities and assist in the monthly close and reporting process. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Finance team as a dynamic, hands-on leader, who will move proactively to lead the FP&A function and partner seamlessly throughout our organization.

This position will report to the Vice President of Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the vendor accrual process for the monthly close partnering with the business and external vendors to record expenses in compliance with GAAP
  • Responsible for internal financial reporting, including monthly comparison of actual vs. budget results
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team on the monthly close to ensure the books are closed accurately and promptly
  • Lead the development of annual budgets, long range planning, and periodic forecast updates
  • Develop financial models and ad-hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives and decision-making.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations to the Board of Directors and Senior Management Team
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to functional groups
  • Assist with the oversight of the procurement and purchasing processes and ensure proper coding of expenses

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting or a relevant degree
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • Prior experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting, and experience with public company compliance.
  • Highly skilled in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with FP&A planning tools and ERPs (QuickBooks and NetSuite)

This position will be based in our Watertown, MA office location. We are not currently considering remote applicants.
