Financial Operations Leader

The Finance Operations Leader plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial management for the North/Central/Nassau Shared Business Network and associated financial services for various Associations and SBNs throughout New York State.
This role is responsible for fostering strong collaborative relationships among SBN personnel, including Finance Teams and Executive Directors, ensuring the delivery of services in accordance with the established scope of services agreements.
The Finance Operations Leader will utilize professional judgment and maintain confidentiality while managing financial operations. Additionally, this position will provide temporary support for local financial needs during periods of vacancy or increased demand.
Essential Qualifications- Associate's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in budget development and oversight, accounts receivable/payable management, cash flow analysis, reconciliation, compliance, and grants/contracts administration.
- Advanced skills in spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Excel), accounting software, and word processing (Microsoft Word), with demonstrated ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets and databases.
Comprehensive understanding of financial operations and grant/proposal processes, alongside thorough knowledge of accounting policies and practices.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with a focus on initiating, organizing, and achieving established objectives while adhering to timelines.
Strong judgment, discretion, and confidentiality are vital for this role.
Additional Competencies- Experience in training or leading teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel moderately (approximately 25%) across New York State.
- Ability to communicate proficiently in English, both orally and in writing.
- Capability to develop and deliver training materials using various methodologies.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
