Medix Infusion is seeking an experienced Director of Trade Relations to play a vital role in innovating and implementing our trade and distribution strategy. In this role, you will negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, taking accountability for developing and leading negotiations on trade contracts, with a focus on complex financial and contractual brand fee-for-service agreements.


The Director of Trade Relations will develop and maintain business relationships with key individuals within each trade account. They will also be responsible for creating, maintaining, and executing trade customer business plans that deliver on distribution agreements.


The Director of Trade Relations will report to the Chief Executive Officer and be a crucial member of the leadership team. We are looking for someone passionate about transforming healthcare, building and growing an organization, and collaborating on future innovations.


Medix Infusion provides personalized home and in-suite infusion therapy services for patients with chronic or acute conditions. Our dedicated team ensures each patient’s journey is as smooth as possible. We offer medical infusion therapies, including anti-infectives, biologics, IVIG, and other injectable and infusion treatments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturer Negotiations:
    • Establish strong relationships across each account to effectively negotiate full-line wholesale contracts delivering financial value.
    • Develop annual account-level business plans with accountability for the financial performance of each account.
    • Manage current and pipeline products to continually deliver value to manufacturing partners.
    • Act as a strategic partner with manufacturer customers, cultivating executive relationships with decision-makers.
    • Understand customer processes, decision drivers, and current and future needs.
  • Contract Management:
    • Negotiate and redline business terms within the full-line distribution contracts.
    • Navigate high-value financial negotiations with strong financial acumen.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders like Procurement, Contract Compliance, Operations, and Finance.
    • Stay connected with key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment in activities, including supply chain optimization and planning.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Engage C-suite executives, account business leaders, and other decision-makers to discuss, present, and negotiate pricing and contracting terms.
    • Conduct quarterly business reviews with key contacts.
    • Develop verbal and visual value propositions for negotiations and issue resolutions.
  • Contract Performance:
    • Assess account performance, identify new partnership opportunities, and engage with accounts to differentiate Medix Infusion.
    • Collaborate with Pricing and Finance to evaluate and monitor contract value.
  • Account Management:
    • Support account teams for contract implementation, product launch, and overall service.
    • Manage customer satisfaction and resolve issues proactively.
    • Partner with internal teams on rebate analysis and agreement processes to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
  • Representation and Compliance:
    • Represent Medix Infusion’s objectives to external partners and communicate mutual objectives clearly.
    • Negotiate and manage agreements with wholesalers, distributors, and manufacturers.
    • Build relationships with major wholesalers and pharmaceutical retail chains.
    • Support sales activities with wholesaler distribution partners.
    • Ensure integrity and compliance with company policies in all activities.
    • Adhere to regulatory and compliance guidelines and company policies.
    • Participate in meetings and conferences as requested.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Healthcare, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience, including developing sales/account management teams, contract negotiation, and redlining.
  • Trade experience with a pharmaceutical company or distributor is a plus.
  • Strong financial acumen and negotiation experience.
  • Collaborative sales experience with the ability to identify needs, evaluate opportunities, and assist with decision processes.
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across multiple audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and influence in a cross-functional, highly matrixed environment.
  • Experience with contract management databases and/or Salesforce preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to evaluate program performance, identify improvements, and develop compelling solutions and strategies.
