SUMMARY: Provides patients and families with courteous customer service support over the phone regarding medical bills. Strives to deliver excellent patient experience to retain present customers and improve company reputation and culture. Works closely with medical billing/coding and collection team members to answer inquiries in response to guarantor statements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides account information to customers including but not limited to insurance information on file, account balances, review services rendered, etc.
  • Verify patient insurance information.
  • Processes payments and setup payment plans
  • Assists customers in the reconciliation of their accounts.
  • Provides timely resolution of customer complaints, concerns, and inquiries.
  • Builds effective relationships and trust with customers by listening to their needs and educating them about Kidz Medical Services and their health insurance.
  • Accurately completes settlements on a daily basis.
  • Prepares reports and correspondence as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years related experience; healthcare accounts receivable experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of guarantor accounts receivable in a healthcare setting as well as working knowledge of managed care plans, insurance denials, and appeals.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Bilingual skills required.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
