Accounting Specialist

Inaba Foods (USA) Inc.’s Accounting Specialist performs a variety of accounting functions to support multi-state offices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs data entry and filing tasks for accounts payable, purchase orders, equipment inventory, and company files.
  • Analyzes expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
  • Reconciles accounts payable and receivables and general ledger with other applicable records (e.g., subsidiary vendors ledger).
  • Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Ensures proper recordkeeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
  • Confirms employer identification numbers have been collected from all vendors for payables to prepare and submit 1099s.
  • Facilitates correct and timely in preparation of budget reports and purchase journals.
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
  • Adheres to all Company policies, procedures and business ethic codes. Represents the Company in a professional manner.
  • May conduct research (within skills and expertise) to assist with projects or inquiries.
  • Coordinates and schedules travel as needed.
  • Perform other additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting and Office environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Highly proficient with accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational skills, reliable and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks including delegation of tasks when appropriate.
  • Adaptable and flexible; responsive and resourceful in a fast-paced, quick turn business model.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent typing and 10-key skills.
  • Ability to commute to our Torrance office.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Quickbooks, and other Accounting or Operations software. (ERP Systems).
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective customer service skills communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and Sr. Management.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance or equivalent work experience.
  • Has worked for a manufacturing company who sells Consumer Packaged Goods.
  • Positive outlook, Glass half full type of mentality.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Having implemented software systems is a plus.
