Job Summary:

We are seeking a Development Director to lead our fundraising initiatives at the Native American Community Clinic. The ideal candidate will bring a deep commitment to improving health outcomes within Native American communities through grant making, strategic fundraising, donor engagement, and community empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a fundraising strategy that supports the clinic's mission and operational goals.
  • Programmatic Grant Management:
    • Oversee and direct NACCs grant lifecycle from identification of opportunities to proposal submission and funds management.
    • Direct the implementation of programmatic grants, aligning grant workplans with organizational goals and capacity.
    • Ensure grant proposals are compelling, accurate, and align with NACC’s mission and vision.
  • Fundraising:
    • Spearhead the development of NACC's internal capacity for philanthropic giving.
    • Transition from reliance on external contractors to building an in-house donor relations team.
    • Cultivate a strong fundraising program that attracts and retains donors by clearly articulating the clinic’s mission and impact.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and expand the development team to effectively meet and surpass fundraising targets.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Represent the clinic at community events, conferences, and professional gatherings to boost visibility and cultivate partnerships.
    • Advocate for the importance of cultural and traditional practices in connecting the community to their identity, addressing systemic disparities, and promoting wellness.
  • Organizational Capacity Building:
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and address organizational capacity gaps.
    • Strategically secure funding to enhance clinic capabilities and impact.
  • Reporting:
    • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to improve NACCS ability to use data effectively, crafting compelling narratives that highlight NACC's positive impact on community health
    • Provide regular updates on fundraising activities and outcomes to senior management and the board of directors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Health, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in fundraising, grant management, and donor relations, preferably within the healthcare or nonprofit sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic fundraising plans that align with organizational goals.
  • Experience working with Native American communities or within culturally diverse environments is highly desirable.
  • Track record of securing significant funding from a variety of sources, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and government grants.
