The technical support specialist will be responsible for the support, configuration, and maintenance of business software and hardware solutions.  The ideal candidate will also help implement and support high quality solutions and processes to meet business requirements.  The candidate must be self-motivated, excellence driven, willing to work independently or as a team, and be detail oriented.  We know this might be your first IT job, don't sweat the lack of experience.  Candidates must have reliable transportation and the ability travel (occasionally) for work.
 
Please Note: This is a part-time (20-24 hours a week) position.   This role will be performed onsite at our Headquarters in Whitewater, WI. There is not a remote opportunity for this role at this time. 

The Technical Support Specialist will report to the Technical Support Supervisor.  You will be responsible for supporting the IT team in the following ways:

Retail Point-Of-Sale (POS) Systems Support
  • Maintain all aspects of Toppers retail systems environment, including:
  • In-Store and Online Order Menu data
  • Perform preventative maintenance to aid in ongoing support POS system
  • Troubleshoot basic telephone and network problems
  • Coordinate systematic changes with Operations Department
  • Monitor feedback mechanisms for restaurants and customers
  • Coordinate with our POS support team on issues they bring up
Manage Existing Applications/Infrastructure
  • Microsoft Server management (including active directory and exchange)
  • Ecommerce Solutions
  • Security/Compliance audits
  • Monitor and maintain backups
  • Installing/configuring hardware and software
  • Documentation of existing hardware and software
  • Learn and support a variety of enterprise class applications
  • Application exposure includes Sage 100, Reporting Solutions, Azure Cloud Services, Retail Security Solutions, and Customer Resource Management (CRM)
Additional Requirements:
  • Intermittent Travel - up to 10% of time
  • Ability to lift heavy items, sometimes in excess of 50 lbs.

  • Participate in on call rotation

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current student or Associate’s degree in MIS, computer science, or related
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Be excited to learn
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem resolution and analytical skills
  • Keen attention to detail
