Position Overview:

The Automation Engineering Specialist will leverage their technical acumen to support the manufacturing sector in creating innovative production processes and standards, utilizing a diverse range of automation and mechanical engineering principles.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Automation, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across various departments.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is preferred, but a background in manufacturing is essential.
  • Note: No sponsorship is available now or in the future.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Proficient in PLC programming, particularly with Rockwell software.
  • Experience in structured text and ladder logic programming for industrial automated systems.
  • Knowledge of techniques for interfacing, communicating, controlling, and troubleshooting automated machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to define machine requirements and develop specifications for machine functions, user interfaces, and quality control to ensure high reliability.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to monitor and enhance efficiency and production output.
  • Expertise in designing electrical control systems using AutoCAD/SolidWorks for electrical and pneumatic diagrams, enclosure layouts, and safety circuits.
  • Engineer various industrial process control systems that integrate both new and existing hardware and software.
  • Design automated assembly line equipment and develop programming for these systems.
  • Create automated test fixtures and manage maintenance activities.
  • Program PLC-based systems across multiple platforms.
  • Develop machine code in PLC or DCS systems, including Human Machine Interface (HMI) software to ensure equipment operates as intended.
  • Innovate new software and hardware designs to fulfill machine specifications.
  • Advanced programming skills with AB/Rockwell software on compact/control Logix platforms, utilizing Studio Designer 5000/RSLOGIX 500, and Beckhoff controls programming with TWINCAT 2 & 3. Familiarity with SIEMENS C++/C#/Python/Visual Studio/SQL database programming is a plus.
  • Design industrial HMI/OIT panels using PanelView Plus and FactoryTalk View Studio (SE and ME), with knowledge of basic networking and experience with Wonderware, Indusoft, and other third-party HMI applications.
  • Integrate various hardware devices and I/O systems, including sensors, actuators, pneumatics, servos/motion controls, robotics, lasers, and printers.
  • Implement machine vision systems.
  • Assist in the technical writing of scope of work documents, operating manuals, and user guides.
  • Research available components and technologies from suppliers to enhance control reliability and reduce costs.
  • Provide training and mentorship to peers on automation concepts and skills.
