Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Unit Manager/ADON/DON, the Clinical Nurse Specialist is responsible for overseeing a designated group of residents/patients during their shift. The role involves delivering nursing care through thorough assessment, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans. The CNS adheres to established care standards, ensures a safe environment for residents/patients, and supervises the performance of nursing assistants and support staff. Compliance with all organizational policies and procedures, as well as the State Nurse Practice Act, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State
- Maintain current CPR certification
- Utilize necessary medical supplies and equipment (e.g., feeding pumps, oxygen, treatment trays, medication cart)
- Calculate medication dosages accurately
- Meet all health requirements mandated by law
- Engage positively and effectively with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and fellow staff
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
- Exhibit basic computer skills with a willingness to learn company-specific applications
- Experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment is preferred
- Prior experience in post-acute care settings is advantageous
