About the Position

We are looking for a highly skilled Construction Project Manager with extensive experience in managing projects involving DC government contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing every aspect of projects, from procurement to completion, ensuring adherence to all relevant DC laws and regulations related to each project.

Responsibilities:

Manage all phases of construction projects, including planning, procurement, budgeting, managing, subcontracting, scheduling, and quality control.

  • Ensure compliance with DC government contract requirements and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Solicit and analyze bids from subcontractors, ensuring project compliance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare detailed project proposals tailored to client requirements for submission.
  • Ensure all subcontractors have ratified subcontracts and all other pertinent documentation on file prior to the start of the project.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, subcontractors, and project team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans to meet project deadlines and financial targets.
  • Verify and submit project invoices accurately and promptly.
  • Organize and submit all required project documentation accurately and timely.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Proactively resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during the construction process to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinate with government agencies, inspectors, and other relevant entities to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and records to track project status and performance.
  • Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project milestones, budget variations, and potential delays.
  • Implement cost-saving measures and best practices to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget constraints.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Eight (8) years or more of progressive knowledge/experience of construction design, finance and management required.
  • Proven experience managing construction projects with DC government contracts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DC laws, regulations, and building codes relevant to construction projects.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead project teams and deliver results on complex construction projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and take initiative to overcome project challenges.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality, safety, and compliance throughout the construction process.
  • Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and MS Office applications.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or LEED (preferred).
