Overview:

The Construction Project Manager will support various construction initiatives, ensuring adherence to quality standards and effective project management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate as a vital member of the construction team on designated projects.
  • Act as the representative at the construction site, overseeing the contractor's quality control measures to guarantee high-quality outcomes.
  • Participate in all relevant construction and quality control meetings.
  • Evaluate contractor performance to ensure compliance with safety protocols and established procedures.
  • Verify that the Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) is prepared and approved prior to inspections.
  • Promptly report any safety violations to the Project Superintendent or Quality Control Manager.
  • Inform the Government Construction Manager and relevant authorities if hazardous conditions are not rectified in a timely manner.
  • Immediately report all incidents to the Construction Manager and appropriate offices.
  • Review construction plans and specifications, ensuring thorough understanding of contract requirements and suggesting necessary modifications.
  • Alert the Construction Manager and Contracting Officer of potential disputes or issues that may necessitate a stop work order.
  • Conduct inspections and quality assurance evaluations of the construction contract and coordinate solutions for technical challenges.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports documenting site visits and quality assurance activities.
  • Ensure the contractor maintains site control until the project is officially transferred to the client.
  • Draft briefings and correspondence as requested by management.
  • Ensure compliance with inspection requirements and quality control systems by the contractor and subcontractors.
  • Interpret contract documents to confirm construction meets specified requirements and communicate concerns for resolution.
  • Recommend design and schedule adjustments to accommodate site conditions or expedite project timelines.
  • Review contractor submissions for compliance and coordinate with project team members.
  • Ensure timely and accurate quality control reports and maintain comprehensive records.
  • Verify that progress payment requests accurately reflect completed work.
  • Review updated construction schedules to ensure accuracy and identify necessary corrective actions.
  • Conduct joint pre-final and final inspections to confirm the absence of contract deficiencies.
  • Maintain a list of outstanding deficiencies at project turnover.
  • Monitor the resolution of deficiencies.
  • Provide performance feedback on the contractor at project completion in a formal report.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Over 10 years of experience in construction management or quality control.
  • Possession of a Secret clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with relevant codes and industry standards.
  • Proficient in quality control inspection tools and methodologies.
  • Understanding of construction technology principles and industry practices.
  • Knowledge of safety and health requirements as per relevant guidelines.
  • Ability to prepare cost estimates and assist in change order negotiations.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Competence in measuring and estimating construction progress.
  • Ability to interpret plans and specifications accurately.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and construction management software.
