Administrative Coordinator I
($21 - $24 p/h)

This in-office role is a fully benefits eligible position (30-40 hours per week)

GRI is an employee-owned, full-service geotechnical, pavement, geological, and environmental engineering consulting firm based in the Portland, Oregon area. We are an ambitious, highly trained, diversified staff of engineers and geologists. General responsibilities include:

  • Primary job duties include standard reception tasks such as: answering phones, faxing, scanning, printing, copying, data entry, vendor interaction, etc.
  • Keep the office looking tidy and good presentation of GRI; keep front desk stocked with items needed for people; greet visitors.
  • Track inventory / order supplies including lab supplies requested by lab lead, peripheral computer equipment, general office supplies.
  • Copiers - add paper, order toner and service calls; Purge unclaimed printed documents on regular schedule (end of week); Keep copy area clean, organized.
  • Oversee facility maintenance requests, be on-site contact to meet with service people as needed.
  • Check mail, distribute, scan accounting mail, unsubscribe from junk mail.
  • Outgoing mail/shipping - any hard copy docs or maps, samples, Fed Ex/post office runs, holiday shipments.
  • Phone Administrator.
  • Assist with travel arrangements.
  • Kitchen supplies, Percasso, light clean up as needed (x2/day).
  • Coordinate in-house lunches (staff brownbags, office events, etc.), including prompt clean up; set up staff meetings (IT needs, refreshments, snacks).
  • Front desk - recycle print cartridges.
  • Conference room - Be expert in the conference room phone and IT, keep clean, etc.
  • Order IT equipment/peripherals as assigned by IT Committee Lead and present requested items for approval.
  • On-site contact for Pavelcomm techs - such as pickup/drop off, server room access, etc.
  • Keep server room organized and cleaned up.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements:

  • Associate's, Bachelor's, and/or High School Diploma with Practical Experience.
  • Proficient user of MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Current Driver's License.
  • Above average phone, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with others.
  • Self-motivated, completes tasks, interested in learning new ideas, embraces change, strives to achieve results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Displays enthusiasm and willingness learn and assist others.


Physical Requirements:

  • Use computers, tablets, phones, and mobile devices.
  • Able to drive to complete errands.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

  • This in-office role is a fully benefits eligible position (30-40 hours per week) at our main office in Tigard, Oregon, near Bridgeport Village.
