We are hiring an HR Director to help grow and develop our team to help us in our mission of developing fresh, exciting, and innovative products for the branded merchandise industry. Our HR Director will report directly to the CEO of the company and will work closely with our executive team to align our human resources and staff with company initiatives. The HR Director will be the point person to recruit and hire new Popstars, develop and support our existing talent, and plan career paths according to business needs. 

In this role, you will be a team of one and you must be comfortable being the sole HR professional on the team. You will be supporting a team of ~50 professional service employees and must have relevant prior experience supporting professional teams, including experience conducting market analyses and documenting and measuring progress to career pathways. For our company, union and labor workforce experience is not directly relevant. We are looking for an organized HR leader who is able to quickly pivot and reprioritize as needs change.

The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of experience in HR and has executive-level communication and project management skills. If you are a passionate HR executive with experience directly supporting professional teams, we want you to be a part of shaping the future of Pop Promos.

Please note, we have a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote per week)

What you will do:
  • Manage our hiring process for Philadelphia and US-based roles and work collaboratively with department managers to get the right people in the right seats.
  • Organize company onboarding, including regular follow ups to make sure the process is running smoothly for employees and managers.
  • Work with employees and managers to build career progressions for all positions that align with company and employee goals.
  • Work with overseas partners to manage the hiring process of outsourced teams. Partner with department leaders to manage overseas team members.
  • Manage compensation for all employees in collaboration with managers.  Complete market analyses for new and existing positions to ensure compensation is competitive and within company budget.
  • Collaborate on and observe annual and quarterly reviews - document and chart progression towards career maps.
  • Join our executive management team and think strategically to align our human resources to achieve our corporate objectives.
  • Promote healthy communication between employees and help to deepen our spirited company culture
  • Update our company HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with best practices and applicable employment laws.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience as an HR professional; 4+ years professional HR experience directly supporting professional service teams
  • Bachelor's Degree and strong written and verbal communication skills a must
  • Experience being a part of an executive team and with proven track record to think strategically to align human resources with company objectives
  • 3+ years experience conducting market research on salary ranges for positions to create compensation plans that align with the market and company budgets. You are the expert in this.
  • Passion for People Ops, particularly in growing businesses, and you believe a healthy team is integral to continuing success
  • Familiarity with best practices and applicable laws regarding compensation and benefits including 3+ years experience negotiating salaries and benefits with employees.
  • 3+ years experience running hiring processes including best practices and applicable laws.
  • You enjoy all stages of HR - you have experience in HR strategy and direction, but enjoy getting your hands dirty recruiting candidates and helping junior employees build career paths.
