Job Summary

The Director of Software Applications will oversee the configuration of HR systems and applications to meet ongoing business needs and develop reporting to support HR functions, including compensation, compliance, performance management, and workforce analytics.

This position will manage the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures; and administer common compensation functions, including job evaluations, salary structure development, incentive plan design, faculty salary calculations, and other associated initiatives.

The Director of Software Applications will lead the development, implementation, and administration of the College's compensation programs, policies, and procedures for faculty and staff positions.

This position will provide strategic oversight of compensation programs that drive performance and comply with all collective bargaining agreements.

The Director of Software Applications will identify and lead activities that build efficiencies, automation, standardization, and adoption of best practices regarding Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), workforce analytics, and reporting.

This position will ensure internal control, oversight, and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with College policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of HRIS and compensation operations.

The Director of Software Applications will design, maintain, and communicate the College's compensation philosophy, pay structures, and salary grades.

This position will perform audit activities to ensure the accuracy of employee data in HRIS systems.

The Director of Software Applications will develop and evaluate processes and procedures to enhance the functionality of HR systems and applications.

This position will provide oversight of the full-time Faculty salary calculation process.

The Director of Software Applications will direct data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies.

This position will collaborate with other HR functional leaders in the delivery of core HR processes like onboarding, hiring, terminations, timekeeping, and performance management.

The Director of Software Applications will provide leadership in defining system requirements and working with external vendors to evaluate and select HRIS software and systems.

This position will conduct research and analysis on market competitiveness, pay equity, and compensation trends.

The Director of Software Applications will monitor and improve data collection and reporting procedures for efficiency and accuracy.

This position will research, evaluate, and test hardware and software needed to achieve the goals of the department.

The Director of Software Applications will serve as HRIS security officer; managing and maintaining system access and security.

This position will oversee processes related to employment verifications, data entry, processing of HR forms, etc.

The Director of Software Applications will ensure timely response to employee inquiries regarding HRIS systems and employee self-service tools.

This position will develop and monitor data standards and maintain up-to-date documentation manuals for HR systems.

The Director of Software Applications will recommend and develop process improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes to enhance service delivery and data integrity.

This position will provide leadership, training, and guidance to direct reports.

The Director of Software Applications will ensure system compliance with collective bargaining agreements, College policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local agencies.

This position will develop and maintain tracking systems and audits for all personnel transactions, including hiring, terminations, retirements, employee status changes, compensation, etc.

The Director of Software Applications will oversee the completion of various external surveys, such as CUPA-HR, EDUCOMP, and IPEDS.

This position will deliver quality customer services to both internal and external constituents in a professional, helpful, and courteous manner.

The Director of Software Applications will have a Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of relevant work experience in HRIS and compensation.

This position will have advanced level proficiency using an HRIS system such as Ellucian Banner.

The Director of Software Applications will have previous management experience and demonstrated leadership skills.

This position will have demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook) and the functional application for HRIS processes.

The Director of Software Applications will have the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This position will have experience handling confidential information with appropriate discretion and sensitivity.

The Director of Software Applications will have knowledge of common practices within the field of compensation.

This position will have the ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.

The Director of Software Applications will have experience using HR applications such as UKG Ready/Kronos, PeopleAdmin, and CompAnalyst.

This position will have previous work experience in higher education.

The Director of Software Applications will have previous work experience within a unionized environment.
