POSITION OVERVIEW

The KIPP Capital Region student IT Intern(s) will work with our IT Staff to achieve two goals over the summer. All student Chromebooks are ready for the fall, and all staff laptops are updated, inventoried, and managed after staff returns for the fall.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work at various KIPP Capital Region schools from 9am-3pm, Monday - Friday
  • Learn technical support for Chromebooks and other computer equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as updates and installations on Chromebooks.
  • Help set up and configure new Chromebooks as needed.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to ensure all technology equipment is functioning properly.
  • Document support activities and maintain records of issues resolved.
  • Learn basic laptop hardware repair
  • Communicate effectively with IT staff to provide assistance and resolve technical issues promptly.

KIPP Capital Region

  • Perform other duties as outlined by the Director of IT.
  • Complies with all charter, federal, state, and local laws, and regulations, including the NYS Department of Education, Department of Health, and NYS Office of Children and Family Services
  • Adheres to organization policies and procedures; promotes and supports mission, vision, and values, including developing and participating in internal surveys and data collection for continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to arrive on-time daily.
  • Parental permission to work at schools throughout KIPP Capital.
