Diversity & Inclusion: The Foundation to Making Freedom Real
Restore's mission is to make freedom real for survivors of trafficking in the United States. To do that, we desire a staff team that is more representative of the survivors we serve — almost all of whom are Black, Latina, and/or immigrants. Applicants from these underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply. We especially welcome applicants who have lived experience of trafficking or labor exploitation.
About the Position
The Counselor Advocate reports directly to the Supervising Counselor Advocate. The Counselor Advocate will provide holistic case management to human trafficking survivors and be part of a team committed to the restoration of each survivor. The ideal candidate for this role has training and experience in providing trauma-informed care and working with individuals with trauma. The candidate can also complete administrative tasks related to daily work promptly and professionally. This position requires the candidate to be fluent in Spanish.
This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of at least 35 hours per week. The shifts are generally Monday through Friday, 9-5 (lunch hour included), but they may vary to accommodate organization and client scheduling.
Specific Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive case management services to survivors of trafficking through advocacy, education, and resource coordination
- Conduct ongoing strengths and needs assessments, safety planning, crisis-prevention plans, impact assessments, and individualized service plans with clients
- Participate in administrative and operational tasks to ensure quality service delivery and fulfill the organization’s mission
- Conduct crisis intervention for potential survivors of trafficking
- Assist the referral team with referrals, intakes, trafficking identification, crisis intervention, safety planning, accompaniment, and resource coordination
- Complete required documentation in a timely and professional manner
- Practice trauma-informed, culturally and linguistically sensitive, survivor-centered practices in all interactions with clients, staff, service-provider organizations, and other stakeholders
- Attend weekly individual supervision, peer supervision, and other required team meetings
- Ensure adherence to HIPPA requirements as well as APA, ACA, and NASW ethical guidelines
Requirements
- Affirm the Nicene Creed and attend a Christian church
- Fluent and comfortable in providing clinical services in Spanish
- Experience in conducting bio-psycho-social assessment, crisis intervention, resource coordination, case management, and clinical counseling
- Success in roles requiring execution of multiple tasks while responding to multiple priorities and ability to prioritize client’s needs
- Experience working with individuals impacted by trauma and working with immigrants and/or at-risk populations
- Proficiency in trauma-informed care, survivor-centered practices, and culture-humility
- Excellent relational skills and engagement with survivors
- Advanced in computer skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Strongly believe and support DEI in organizational cultures and direct services
- Deep commitment to the healing and well-being of survivors of trafficking
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
- MHC, MSW, MFT, MHC-LP, MSW-LP, MFT-LP, LMSW, LMHC, or LCSW preferred
Compensation
The salary is $70,000. Restore provides a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) matching, HSA/FSA, 15 vacation days, four spiritual retreat days, unlimited sick days, parental leave, a flex-time policy, major medical, vision, dental, life and disability insurance, and commuter benefits.
