Job Description: Lead Maintenance Technician

Overview: As a Lead Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the maintenance activities within our organization. You will lead a team of technicians, ensuring the efficient operation, repair, and maintenance of equipment and facilities. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and organizational ability to ensure the smooth functioning of our operations.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance technicians.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to team members.
  • Delegate tasks and ensure they are completed on time and within budget.

Maintenance Operations:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair work on machinery, equipment, and systems as needed.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and maintain maintenance records.
  • Be available for on-call after hours emergencies.

Facility Management:

  • Monitor the condition of facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or installations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.

Inventory and Budget Management:

  • Manage inventory levels of spare parts and equipment.
  • Assist in developing and managing the maintenance budget.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies in maintenance operations.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Generate reports on maintenance metrics, such as downtime, repair costs, and equipment reliability.
  • Communicate maintenance status updates to management.
Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role, with leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software and computer literacy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification (e.g., HVAC, electrical) is a plus.
