Gift Accountant

Position Summary:
The Gift Accountant is responsible for managing the constituent accounting and database, Raiser’s Edge, maintaining its integrity, and providing support to the development staff. The Gift Account reports to the Assistant Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Manages Raiser’s Edge database including accurate, daily input of all gifts; creation and distribution of weekly, monthly, and annual revenue reports; creation and maintenance of all constituent records; and global data changes as needed
- Pulls gift transaction data and online giving activities from third-party credit card processor websites and uses spreadsheet formulas and functions to prepare data for input and perform reconciliations. Works collaboratively with finance to reconcile revenue reports. Works with individuals, campus departments, and constituent groups to generate fund balance reports as needed.
- Maintain database policies and procedures
- Serve as the primary resource for the development staff regarding the Raiser’s Edge database, Research Point software, Online Express gift processing, and basic accounting fundamentals
- Create all queries/exports and reports requested by development staff
- Assist development staff with the use of query tools and database functionality
- Serve as a resource for Dillard University administration, faculty, and staff regarding donor and fund information and database input
- Assist the University in ensuring that the donor acknowledgment process is effectively followed

- Bachelor’s degree with coursework in business, finance, statistics, large-scale data analysis, or a related field of study
- Two years’ experience in analytical research or specialist information role within a nonprofit, academic, or corporate setting
- Demonstrated computer proficiency specifically with Microsoft Office and database software
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with others on a team
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in working with sensitive and often highly confidential information
- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external audiences
Work Conditions
May require long hours sitting in front of a computer, walking across campus, and/or bending, stooping and lifting up to 20lbs.

The scope of the job frequently requires working in the evenings and on weekends. Including University Commencements (Mandatory).
