National Sales Manager - Job Overview:
Applied Concepts has an exciting opportunity at our Richardson headquarters, where you'll be contributing to growing our Speed Enforcement, Intelligent Traffic Systems, and Sports Radar product lines by managing a 35-person direct sales team. In addition to an Inside Sales Team, you'll manage regional Sales Managers that work from their territory-based home offices. You'll help leverage our 47 years of technology expertise in radar, Lidar, and traffic safety to provide our customers with advanced, connected, real-time information systems that deliver value ranging from optimized traffic patterns to life-saving hazard avoidance.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years' experience in equipment-focused government or industrial sales management, is willing to travel as necessary up to 30%, a proven track record of managing sales quota programs, increasing sales and customer satisfaction, and managing a top-performing sales team. National Sales Manager - How you'll make an impact:
- Lead and manage our National Sales Group
- Travel up to 30% of the time out of the Applied Concepts, Inc. offices in Richardson, Texas, to build relationships and present at industry functions
- Communicate with staff, customers, and factory personnel as you travel or work (laptop and cell phone provided)
- Perform timely reviews of all staff and effectively coach our Sales teams
- Prepare annual and quarterly sales forecasts
- Ensure that all field staff maintain account records and activities in our proprietary CRM (Customer Relationship Management) System
National Sales Manager - What you'll need to succeed:
- A four-year college degree
- 10+ years of previous sales management experience
- The ability to manage and lead an exceptional sales organization
- The ability to develop creative sales programs based upon sales trends analysis
- Extensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite programs (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Possess a valid driver's license with a clear and verifiable driving record, and pass a drug screening test and background check
We will be particularly interested if you possess:
- Previous experience in sales management to government agencies
- Previous experience in planning and leading a 75+ million-dollar sales programs
- Previous track record in successfully achieving annual sales quotas
- Proven skills in planning and executing cold-call programs
- Extensive experience documenting sales activities within an internal tracking database program
