About this role:


At VRC, we are always looking to strengthen our organization by adding the best available talent to our team. We’re seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Specialist to be the company’s subject matter expert with all payroll and benefits administration.

What you will do:

  • Benefits: End-to-end benefits administration – new hires, life events, and open enrollment
    • Process all health, welfare, and retirement plan enrollments, premiums, and employee contributions
    • Review monthly health, disability, and life insurance bills to ensure accuracy, and liaise with the Finance Department accordingly
    • Assist in developing benefit and payroll policies, processes, and guidelines
    • Manage ACA administration – tracking, enrollments, and distribution of 1095-C's
  • Payroll: Own end-to-end payroll process for 250+ employees with multi-state complexity
    • Process employee changes affecting payroll, including new hires, terminations, and unique employee information including W4's, pay changes, bonuses and promotions, retirement deferrals and loans
    • Manage and guarantee semi-monthly disbursement of payroll to employees, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes consistent with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
  • Thoroughly understand compliance regulations and reporting for benefits, payroll, and retirement plans
  • Compile information and complete audits to ensure payroll and benefit integrity
  • Assist in developing benefit and payroll policies, processes, and guidelines
  • Handle statutory reporting related to compensation and benefits
  • Import and reconcile time off into ADP from the company’s ERP system, Acumatica
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by Human Resources and the Management team

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • ADP payroll system experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with self-insured benefits
  • Knowledge of multi-state and federal employment and payroll processing regulations
  • Prior experience in financial services or professional services industry is preferred
  • Strong sense of urgency, high level of accountability, detail-oriented, accurate, organized, deadline-driven, and ability to multitask
