Job OverviewWe have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to join our newly developed HR Operations team Komatsu’s HR Operations team provides support to North America in the areas of payroll, onboarding, offboarding, leave management, reporting, and HR analytics. This role will provide foundation-level skills in payroll administration and HR operations, with future career advancement opportunities available within each key areas of the team. The selected new team member should also enjoy working cross functionally between human resources, benefits, and the business, with ability to adapt their work to meet the needs of the day.
Key Job Responsibilities- Confirm data changes via automated process for employee changes such as new hires, terminations, & pay changes.
- Computing wage and overtime payments, calculating and recording payroll deductions and processing terminations.
- Update employees’ taxes, direct deposit, and other miscellaneous payroll entries using payroll system, UKG.
- Processing weekly, bi-weekly and/or monthly payrolls for assigned employee groups,
- Analysis of payroll data to ensure error free processing.
- Payroll support on garnishments and levies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Human Resources and Employee Benefits, as well as other business units throughout the United States
- High-school diploma (or equivalent) required, Associates level degree preferred.
- 0-3 years of experience in Human Resources or Finance (preferred)
- Must possess strong Customer service and professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal instructions and ability to perform basic arithmetic and payroll calculations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment, manage high volume, repetitive daily tasks, and be highly adaptable.
- Proven success with tasks requiring high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Able to handle difficult situations with patience. Confidence in interacting with employees at all levels of the organization, both vertically and horizontally.
- Willingness to learn:
- the importance of payroll processes and procedures.
- federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
- payroll tax laws, HR laws, garnishment laws, and HR Policies.
- Basic Excel skills required with the willingness to broaden Excel skills to advanced.
- Basic understanding of the importance of Labor Unions within an organization and commitment to learning the nuances to ensure pay is accurate.
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems.
