About Us

Since opening in 1985, Ronald McDonald House Charities Ann Arbor (RMHCAA) has welcomed over 26,000 families.  These families travel a distance from their homes, arriving from out of state and from other countries.  Their length of stay may range from a day or two to several months.  Our families include moms and dads, brothers and sisters, grandpas and grandmas — RMHCAA is here to keep families together during their difficult time.

 

Summary

The Marketing & Events Intern will gain experience in event fundraising including logistics, auction management and volunteer relationships.   Will also gain exposure to social media, professional writing, photography, email marketing, and graphic design. 

 

 

Time Commitment and Location

A flexible yet consistent commitment of 8-20 hours per week is expected.  The on-site position is located at Ronald McDonald House Ann Arbor at 1600 Washington Heights near Michigan Medicine C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and the Nichols Arboretum.

 

 

Benefits

This is an unpaid opportunity designed to provide a professional experience.  Interns are not considered employees and are not eligible for employee benefits.  Academic credit can be given to current students who qualify through their college or university.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in social media content creation, including photography and short-form video
  • Assist in populating social media editorial calendar
  • Assist in event logistics for RMHCAA fundraising events.
  • Assist in event auction management
  • Assist in managing volunteers for fundraising events
  • Maintain all RMHC Global brand standards
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications

  • College student or recent graduate majoring in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be able to work well both collaboratively and independently
  • Proficiency in social media platforms – especially Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn
  • Proficiency in Canva and Microsoft 365
